Oneness

The Bible speaks of oneness
But what does oneness mean
Two people meshed together
Functioning as one or so it seems.

A truth that’s hard to fathom
It’s what marriage’s meant to be
Each role is slightly different
God the Spirit powers each.

Like worker bees to the queen
She’s their focus ’til they die;
Oneness, the same commitment
God’s their focus by and by.

With common goals, direction
To glorify, enjoy The One
Each life centered and devoted
To God the three in one.

God exists in 3 persons,
Father, Spirit, Son
Each Co-equal, Co-eternal,
Yet in substance, nature one.

Like the bride of Christ in heaven
Comprised of believers everywhere
All gathered ’round the throne room
Joyfully singing God is there.

As we grasp a sense of oneness,
The Triune God we sense is near,
Those with spiritual eyes discern it,
God is with ’em, what’s to fear.

For we have 2 sets of eyes
One visible, one not
With one, we gaze upon the world
The other, life’s spiritual elements.

Everywhere we look in nature
Is a message for us to understand
Like the rainbows after showers,
A newborn baby in your hands.

The stars in the heavens
The galaxies in space
God’s beautiful creation
And His abounding grace.

How your question’s timely answered
God’s timing’s always right
Not an accident, but Providence
As He comes in power ‘n might.

And addict kicks their habit
The 12 steps lead the way
All 12 straight from the Bible
If we’ll only trust, obey.

When we look back over history
The right man showed up right on time
Dr. King, the march in Selma
Rosa Parks, that front seat now is mine.

The Battle of the Bulge was going badly
The Germans surprised us, we’re out gunned
But General Patton’s steely calvary
Arrived in time, the battle won.

So oneness is not so foreign
It’s a realty that’s truly, really real
Love’s what motivates it,
It’s a freedom you can feel.

As oneness goes, so goes humanity
Living the golden rule with all we see;
Satan’s way self-absorption, calamity,
God’s, beauty, love, and peace.

About menmourningmoments

I'm happily married, the Father of 2 sons and 2 daughters and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Death is all around us but somehow we've managed to distance ourselves from it. Men, Mourning, Moments is about how the death of my son awakened me to life & the desire to seize every moment as though it were my last. It's about making sense of life in the good times and bad and allowing GOD to carry me and teach me through the hard times in life.
