History’s Calling

God’s talking, are we listening
To the Creator as He speaks,
Come back to Me My children
And run from peak to peak.

He spoke to Moses from a bush afire
Moses went to investigate;
He hadn’t forgot His chosen people,
It was time they walked in faith.

Elijah felt alone, abandoned,
Needed God to set him straight,
God didn’t speak from the natural disasters
But the gentle whisper at the cave.

And when Abram sinned with Hagar,
Following the solution from his wife;
Nevertheless the Father blessed him,
Bringing Isaiah into his life.

God spoke, the prophets listened,
He’s speaking still today
Like when He gently stirs us
To trust in Him, obey.

We need to return and listen
Our morals, boggy, we’re corrupt
Unless He condescends, He blesses
Our nation’ll surely be ground to dust.

Though we deserve the wrath that’s coming,
I’ve the nerve to ask for grace;
But unless we repent, turn to Him,
It’s His judgment that awaits.

Times running out America,
We need to come to our senses fast,
We’ve thrived cause God has blessed us
But these blessings will not last.

God moves when He is ready
He alone decides what’s right
Our role, to hear, obey Him
He alone’s all power and might.

If enough of us believe Him
Start doing what He likes,
He will restore our nation,
When we just step out and fight.

But “if” can’t be our focus,
It’s all about the “when”
For God to continue blessing
We must repent and turn to Him.

About menmourningmoments

I'm happily married, the Father of 2 sons and 2 daughters and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Death is all around us but somehow we've managed to distance ourselves from it. Men, Mourning, Moments is about how the death of my son awakened me to life & the desire to seize every moment as though it were my last. It's about making sense of life in the good times and bad and allowing GOD to carry me and teach me through the hard times in life.
