I listened recently to an interview by Megyn Kelly of Bill Ayers who was one of the founders of the Weather Underground (Weathermen). This was a group created in opposition to the war in Vietnam with the ultimate goal of over throwing the Government. This organization was responsible for the bombing of 30 government facilities banks, etc. during the 60s. Mr. Ayers was not at all apologetic about his former actions/activities. His rationalization for doing it was the government was killing 6000 people a day which was far worse than what they were doing. Killing and mayhem is wrong so to stop it we’ll commit more of it. The logic is frightening and quite similar to current day terrorists.
His wife, Bernadine Dohrn, was also a member of this organization and her quote about the Tate/ LaBianca murders by the Charles Manson gang is frightening, “Offing all those rich pigs with their own forks and knives and then eating a meal in the same room, far out. The Weathermen dig Charles Manson”. Since Ayers/Dohrn now live in the same neighborhood in Chicago as the Obama’s, it appears they are now the new “rich pigs” so let’s hope for their sakes that no terrorists decide to “off” them.
In all fairness to them, I’ve done some things in my past that I’m not all that proud of and, in fact, am ashamed that I did them. But, there did not seem to be any remorse whatsoever in Mr. Ayers for his past criminal endeavors and, in fact, he regretted that they hadn’t done more.
But the real point of this blog is what some of these Weathermen are doing now! Mr. Ayers went on to become a Professor of Education at the University of Illinois Chicago and Vice President of Curriculum Study at the American Educational Research Association who has tremendous influence over what our future American teachers are taught and indoctrinated in. He’s an ardent socialist/communist who now sees the overthrow of the government occurring via the educational system where teachers are taught doctrine totally contrary to what most people believe and why this nation was founded.
His wife, Bernadine Dohrn, is Associate Professor at Northwestern University at the Children and Justice Center.
Former member Mark Rudd is a teacher at a junior college in New Mexico (his current position on these past activities is unknown to this writer).
Two of their associates, David Gilbert and Kathy Boudin, are in prison, where Ayers/Dohrn would be if most of the charges against them hadn’t been dropped due to investigatory errors by the FBI, for murder in other terrorist activities.
The very people who hate our government and wanted to destroy it are now educating our future teachers and in many cases shaping the curriculums that are being used to indoctrinate them on the evils of America and the beauty of communism.
All organizations created by sinful man eventually come to the point where the organization’s perpetuation itself is their primary goal. We see this played out daily in the Republican Party, Democratic Party, Environmental Protection Agency, IRS, and the list goes on and on. Unfortunately we see it in the Public School system as well where the continuation of Public Schools, even though their results don’t begin to compare with other educational alternatives, is priority one. Who cares about the kids education, it’s the continuation of Public Schools that is solely important to many of these individuals.
Perhaps it’s time to rethink Public education and, stop funding a system that has been broken for years and costs a fortune with very few positive results to show for it. Surely it makes common sense to stop taxing people into oblivion to pay for a system that clearly doesn’t work, hasn’t worked for some time and shows no hope of changing/improving and allow the people to use those tax dollars to invest in quality, privately owned educational systems that show good results and you can fire if they don’t. I know there are still many very gifted teachers, administrators in our Public Schools but their hands are tied behind their backs and getting no help at all from the very organization that employs them.
By the way, while we’re at it, let’s completely overhaul the IRS and consider disbanding/defunding/reorganizing the Environmental Protection Agency, Departments of Education, Commerce, Energy, Labor, Housing and Urban Development and many more of the over 2,000 federal bureaucracies with their combined 2 trillion dollars budgets. We’d be killing 2 birds with 1 stone; getting rid of unnecessary and misguided bureaucracies that do much more harm than good and reducing our nation’s annual budget. And, just maybe, getting our Nation back on the road to meaningful recovery and true freedom.
