My Prayer

As we contemplate death and how as sinful man we perceive it, God gave me this prayer that I’d like to share with you.

President Franklin Roosevelt (FDR) said all we have to fear is fear itself. The God of the universe says trust Me and Me alone and fear has no power/control over you. Who do we choose to believe?

My Prayer

Overwhelm me God the Father
consume me with your Son,
may I always sense your presence
as I walk and breathe and run.

Break me of self protection,
self absorption, self-control
and understand completely
only You are in control.

Increase my devotion to you
for it’s You that matters most
exalt You with my being
as do your heavenly host.

Lead me to paths everlasting,
Your joy abide in me,
while You become the greater,
and I become the least.

Jesus please come quickly,
we’ve made a mess of things,
and only you can fix it
as the Rock who rules and reigns.

Help me better understand it,
Your good-will to “man” You’ve made,
brings You glory in the highest
as Your Peace does rule and reign.

And may reverent understanding
flow as Your kingdom comes
and to You be all the glory
The Almighty Three in One!

About menmourningmoments

I'm happily married, the Father of 2 sons and 2 daughters and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Death is all around us but somehow we've managed to distance ourselves from it. Men, Mourning, Moments is about how the death of my son awakened me to life & the desire to seize every moment as though it were my last. It's about making sense of life in the good times and bad and allowing GOD to carry me and teach me through the hard times in life.
