Snow Flakes

Sitting by the window wide,
rocking in the chair beside,
watching while the fire subsides.

What’s the message in the snow
as it cascades, accumulates below
while the children bundle up to go.

Is it moisture floating down
or something much more profound
as it’s beauty covers and abounds.

Some melt as they trickle down
but most do cover and abound
as God’s white blanket on the ground.

God has made us like the flakes,
to pull together, a difference make
and out of bad some good to make.

If we did what God intended
such a lovely place, all blended
together like a blanket mended.

Alone we make so little impact
but joined together in God’s compact
our blended lives reflect the real fact

The Triune God does rule and reign.

About menmourningmoments

I'm happily married, the Father of 2 sons and 2 daughters and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Death is all around us but somehow we've managed to distance ourselves from it. Men, Mourning, Moments is about how the death of my son awakened me to life & the desire to seize every moment as though it were my last. It's about making sense of life in the good times and bad and allowing GOD to carry me and teach me through the hard times in life.
